Life sometimes beats attitudes down

by Rick Baker
On Aug 8, 2014

All people have talents.

All people want to use their talents to create things of value.

And all people want the things they create to be appreciated.

People want their work to be productive.

It's just that, over time, life experiences and troubling interactions with other people and bad-habit mindsets beat many people’s attitudes down. Ongoing series of real and perceived problems and other people's criticism and worries and grief and many other such things beat many people’s attitudes down.

When spirits are beaten down work performance shrinks away.

We need to bolster spirits before we can expect performance improvements.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

When you disappoint a person, trust drops. Maybe you'll get a second chance to repair the trust. Maybe you will not.

It is easier to destroy an interpersonal relationship than build one.

Interpersonal relationships are fragile - we know that.

Now, there's another complication in our lives: technologies are becoming increasingly fragile. Technologies are becoming so fragile we replace them long before we break them.

Everyone knows relationships are an important part of business development. Many people think relationships are the most important part of business development. Some people understand an exchange of insight is one of the two fundamental aspects of business relationships, the other fundamental aspect being trust.
